Mars University (MarsU) is an international academic and research institution that is offering higher education services. Our mission to unite students, researchers, and professionals in a multidisciplinary curriculum, to settle humans on planet Mars. MarsU plans to design and administer the Graduate Certificate Program in Mars Settlement and Exploration from July 5 to Aug 27.

The Associate Dean of the Program is responsible for overseeing and organizing the faculty, curriculum, and academics of the Program. At the heart of the online Program, the Associate Dean is vital toward sustaining the first academic program dedicated to making life multi-planetary. As part of the MarsU faculty, you would be responsible for developing the online portion of the Mars U program.

Responsibilities

Create manage and implement as series of online courses for MarsU students.

Co-lead Program schedule, skeleton, and curriculum development
-
Contribute to program and course curriculum development, assessment, and standards

Select, create and manage the online learning management system and platform with IT staff

Train and support faculty in the facilitation of online support services

Design, edit, and educate first student cohort on courses and/or unit/modules

Assist in finalizing student tuition costs and Program budget

Lead academic meetings with faculty and instructors

Work with admissions staff to support student enrollment, retention, and mentor students

Support and improve underdeveloped areas of the online Program

Co-present to prospective students and co-lead coordination of pre-program webinars with faculty and staff

Present during Program kick-off webinar, Meet the Faculty webinar, and the opening and closing ceremonies during the online program

Skills
-
5+ years of professional experience in academia, space, Mars, or industry preferred but not necessary
-
PhD preferred or Master's degree in science, education, or a relevant field
-
Knowledgeable about online teaching, curriculum development, Mars, space, academia, nonprofits, etc.
-
Experience working with a global base of faculty and students whose interactions are mainly remote
